The lyrics of this song were written on the day I lost my mother. As I walked the shore of Stinson Beach, watched the birds play in the sky, listened to the waves dance, and the sun peeking from the clouds, these words came.
That week, I reached into my nightstand, where I'd stashed an envevlope from my childhood home - in it letters, photos, and whatnot. There was a card my mom had given me on my first day of First Grade.
In it, the words "May you go Forward with Grace and Fortitude" were written in her hand.
Then came the tune...Grace and Fortitude
