about

The Weary Girl Refrain is about strength perseverence, dreaming, and pursuing that which you believe. My mom used to call me "the weary traveler" when I'd return to my Chicago home to visit, from California. I kind of resonated with that, and I think she did too,
My mom instilled in me to go on, even when the impossible is at hand. That the wind may be blowing, but let it be at your back.
"in our hearts the wars we wage" speaks to that, often, we can be our worst enemy, but the truth of our love, adn what matters most, will be our guide

lyrics

Whispering Willow, Blue eyed soul
Indiana was your home
Time goes still and seasons change
In our hearts the war we wage

Peace of mind, a price to pay
No more running, I will stay
In a boxcar, Northbound train
We’ll meet in Heaven, sing again

And the wind is blowing at our back, Lord
And the sky is begging me to change
This is the blessed understanding
This is the Weary Girl’s refrain

Sunlight falls on winter’s brow
To better days seem sooner now
Fallow fields, a gentle dream
Ever after loving things
